FAQ
Models, Credits, and how creating works.
image.cooking is a multi-model AI picture generator. Write a prompt, add a reference image if you need one, and create photos, art, and designs with leading models from OpenAI, Google, ByteDance, xAI, and Black Forest Labs in one workspace.
Both. image.cooking runs leading image models, so the same prompt can produce a photographic image, an illustration, or a stylized piece of art. Name the look you want in the prompt, such as “editorial photograph” or “gouache illustration”, and choose the model that suits it.
GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, GPT Image 2.5 Flare, and GPT Image 2 from OpenAI; Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2.1, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2 Lite, and Nano Banana from Google; Seedream 5.0 Pro, Seedream 5.0 Flash, Seedream 5.0 Lite, and Seedream 4.5 from ByteDance; Grok Imagine Image 2.0 from xAI; Flux 3 image, Flux.2 Pro, Flux.2 Flex, and Flux.1 [schnell] from Black Forest Labs. The lineup changes as new models arrive, and every model has its own page describing what it is good at.
Start with GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst for posters, type, and pack shots, Nano Banana Pro for editorial fidelity, Seedream 5.0 Pro for art-directed fashion and environments, and Flux 3 image for structured images with many references. For early drafts, Nano Banana 2 Lite and Flux.1 [schnell] are the quick options. Running the same prompt on two models is the fastest way to learn which suits your idea.
You can start without paying. Signing up with Google includes starter Credits. Email sign-up does not. Every model shows its Credit price before a run starts. Paid kitchens are listed on Pricing, and checkout stays in this tab.
Each generation spends Credits. The price depends on the model and your settings, such as resolution, output count, and whether you use a reference image. Create shows the exact price before you start, and a run only begins if your balance can cover it.
If your balance cannot cover a run, the run does not start. Paid kitchens with monthly Credits are listed on Pricing.
Yes, on models that support them. Upload an image or choose one from My Creations, then describe what should stay and what should change.
No. Start by describing what you want to see. As you experiment, add the subject, style, light, composition, and any exact words, and refine from there.
Start with a clear idea and describe the subject, the style, the mood, and the framing. Look at a smaller size first, then move up when the composition is right. Great results usually come from a few rounds of iteration.
It varies with the model, your settings, and current demand. The interface shows the generation status while your image is being created.
Completed images are saved to My Creations, private to your account, and you can download the full-resolution file from there. An image is shown on the homepage only if you submit it and it passes review.
Yes. Paid Kitchen plans include commercial use of images generated while the kitchen is in force, including through the end of a period you already paid for. That permission stays with those images after the kitchen ends. It covers every available model and is subject to our Terms. Images generated with starter Credits, or while no paid kitchen is in force, are for personal, non-commercial use. A separately purchased Credits pack does not add commercial use. While a paid kitchen is in force, commercial use does not depend on which Credits paid for the generation. This is permission from image.cooking only. It does not give you rights in anyone else’s work, and we do not guarantee that an output is unique or free of third-party rights. Model-provider terms still apply.
Because every great creation starts with an idea. Your idea is the ingredient, AI is the kitchen, and the final image is what you create.
The long versions live in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
